Elf on the Shelf: Grinch theme day!

Who doesn’t love Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas?  It’s always, always been one of my favorites throughout my life.  It’s a classic!

I love being able to share a holiday movie with my little ones that I watched when I was growing up!  I want to make it even more special by adding in what is currently special to them: our elf, Twinkle!

There are many, many Grinch theme ideas out there, so I really can’t wait to add more to this one every year!

Twinkle came on Grinch day with a new friend, The Grinch!  He’s an ornament, so the children were excited to add that to their tree.

To me, red and green seem just perfect for a Grinch theme! I love, love, love the swirly tree from my Mom.  It was gold and I spray painted it silver to match all of my Christmas decor, but when I thought of a Grinch theme, I just thought it would tie in because it’s so whimsical!  Isn’t it cute? 🙂

Twinkle with the Grinch, Grinch match cards, and supplies to make Grinch ornaments.

I used a google image to print out a Grinch the size I needed, wrote “Merry Grinchmas” on it and it’s such a simple, cute table decoration.

This Grinch was used the year before for a Pin the Heart on the Grinch and I thought I would use it as a background and added a quote from the movie.

Of course, a Grinchmas dinner…WhoHash.  Thanks to http://foodinliterature.com/gluten_free/2012/11/the-grinch-who-hash.html

and some Grinch pudding (just add food coloring to vanilla pudding and add sprinkles!)  Of course, I didn’t get the picture of our “roast beast,” but it was so good (just cooked a roast in the crockpot and this was set up before the children woke)!
